I dont want to receive tons of emails in my inbox. When I have time, I might check the messages via web one after another. I know to set my preference to "No email" for each group. Is there any email command for it so that I can join the group and set to "No email" at the same time? Like subscribe-NOEMAIL-xxxxxxxx@yahoogroups.c... ???

  1. Go to the group, click edit membership along the top. In the next window scroll down and untick where it says individual email then you can tick pick up your mesages at the site, receive a daily digest or no email. Click save changes

  2. if you plan to join a group via the subscribe address, you're becoming a mail list only member and wont be able to read off the group unless you link your Yahoo ID to that membership. once posts start coming, there generally is link to edit your mail preferences.

if you join a group of course via it's web page, you can select at that time No Mail
