  1. Hi,

"Cap" is the layman's term for "Crown". So, those are basically the same thing.

I believe you got "bonded white fillings" done that you are referring to as the "Caps".

I don't see any reason for you to not get qualified for the US Army because of that.

They CANNOT discriminate against you based on that.

However, it will be wise for you to get crowns done before you join the US Army because of the fact that the boded fillings are weaker than crowns in terms of providing strength to the already broken teeth.

    Hope this helps :)

    Good luck !!

  2. Yes.

However, a dentist will determine if your teeth are healthy and whether or not you need non-emergent or emergent care.  That is the determination of whether you keep your caps or not.

  3. I do not think you have to worry about that.

  4. Yes.

You have to have enough teeth to be able to chew your food normally, otherwise, the Doctor barely looks at your mouth.

    - However - to become a Pilot, you have to get a comprehensive physical, including Dental exam, and the Dentist looks a little closer.

  5. I know for a fact that it will not be a problem. I was in basic with guys that seriously had rotten teeth. If your teeth are bad than you are just put in a certain dental category or rating and that affects your readiness status. If you need it fixed the army will do it though so it won't be a problem at all. They let people in with gold teeth now so I dont think the crown will be a problem!
