Question:

Can I join the Navy?

I signed up to join the Navy and was scheduled to leave March 5, 2008. I ended up backing out, terrible mistake, but I let people get to me and talk me out of it. I was wondering if it is still possible for me to rejoin the navy. I really want to be in the navy, but a lot of friends and family see it differently. If it is possible for me to rejoin I am not going to let anyone know besides my parents, so that no one can try to talk me out of it again.

  1. You should be able too.If this is really what YOU want then join if not dont bother. Some of my friends said I sold out I dont know how or what they really meant. They eventually supported me hope your Family and friends support your chioce.

  2. join if you want. if you don't then don't. However DO NOT join any regular armed service branch. go for SF.

  3. You are the one who will be going through Navy boot camp, shipboard assignments and service schools for training. Not your friends. Not your relatives. You are the one who will be returning from Boot Camp and have to look at some of those "friends" and wonder how and why you hung out with such immature people in the first place. Because your life is going to change. For the better. You will grow in attitude, in maturity and in understanding. And through that process you will earn one of the most honored titles on this planet: "Shipmate".

Go see another recruiter. See if there is a way you can "quick ship" to make up for lost time. Your physical and test scores are still good.

  4. Sure.

  5. It is still possible. But, if you think it's not for you, don't do it. I hate to see people doing everything possible to get out, like someone forced them in. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life and, in retrospect, my husband's. No one knows you better than you. Don't let your "friends" dictate your life.

Let me put it this way, what other job can you get outta high school that will feed you, give you a bed to sleep in, let you see the world and still have spending money? Not many.

  6. Yes, I guarantee your recruiter or another one from a nearby area will be happy to make that happen.  If it's what you truly want.  I made many friends in my Navy career and don't much miss the ones I left behind, except for a few who have always supported me, no matter what decisions I made.
