Can I join the army with this record?

1 misdemeanor for vandalism when I was 16, my fine was $36, I let the air out of a sophomores tire during high school as a prank.

1 DUI, it happened on New Years, I made a poor decision and I have learned from it and it will not happen again.

Some things that might help me. I have 28 college units and can score a 280 on the APFT. How long, in your opinion, would waivers take to go through for these charges?

  1. Talk to a recruiter - for answers.

The DUI needs to be fully discharged - all fines and sentences must be served. But your best source of info is a face to face recruiter...

  2. As my recruiter told me as she was listing all the waivers I needed to have. No, don't worry about it hon, we're not looking for choir boys.

Oh, my longest took 3 days. It was out of state.

  3. The misdemeanor I'm pretty sure can be waived. The DUI...I'm not too sure. I think you mean AFQT not APFT?

  4. You can join easy. It shouldn't take much time at all. We need soldiers very badly right now.

  5. Mannnn tha Army will take anybody. They wud take felons, dudes wit tattz on they neck and ****. U shud be ok juz have to get a waiver and amy not qualify for certain jobs

  6. I wouldn't even worry about the misdemeanor.

As for the DUI, it's a bit more serious, but I don't think they would let that stand in the way of you joining.
