Can I join the military with rank?

I'm joining the US Army and I'm curious what programs exist that would allow me to start with higher rank E-2+. I don't have a college degree, only about 11 college credits. I'm trying to join the US Army Reserves as Military Intelligence. However I'd like to know about any options that would give me a leg up and opportunities to lead. Active or Reserve. However quick responses would help immensly, I leave for meps tommarow evening.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

  1. Here you go.  This link outlines all the different ways you can qualify to enter the Army at a higher rank.

  2. ROTC is the best way to get rank, the guard offers a program to where if you get someone to enlist, you get 2000 plus rank up (you can go to E-3) but those people that you get to enlist have to ship to basic. The guard also has a thing called stripes for skills, where if you learn your marching, ranks, soldiers creed, and other stuff, including a PT test you will get bumped to E-2.

  3. The first two are enlistment info. The rest are MI stuff.

Old spooks never die, they just get new toys.

  4. One thing semi-related but not listed - if you enlist for 6 years - the AF will give you E-3 following your training.
