Question:

Can I just carry Driver's license issued in CA for traveling from Hawaii to Guam and Guam to Hawaii back?

I hold a citizenship of South Korea and plan to travel from Hawaii to Guam by Continental airlines (non-stop). I wonder whether I have to go through immigration entry process as a visitor to US when I come back from Guam to Hawaii. If not, I am planning to carry just driver's license issued in California. Can anybody answer my question who actually traveled before?

Thanx a lot

  1. You will not need to go through immigration on your flight to or from hawaii to guam. You only go through immigration when you arrive on an inbound international flight. Since guam is a us territory and hawaii a state you will just need to show identification to go through security before boarding your flight.

  2. If you're on the direct flight from Hawaii to Guam, your valid Cali license will be just fine (for idenfication's sake) since you won't be going through Immigrations. This flight is within the US.

However, check your flight route and make certain that you are not connecting via Majuro or Japan since these are also Continental's other routes into Guam. If you connect via these other countries, your  flight will be considered international and you will need to clear Immigrations on Guam. This means that you WILL need a Passport.

  3. i'd recommend that just in case...bring your passport...just for safety
