Question:

Can I just name my daughter VV (not short for anything - just VV)?

I think VV is a cute name. It's short and sweet while still stylish and edgy. It's not going to be short for anything - I just like the name VV as it is. I don't think that just because it's a short name, means it's any less of a name.

I was just wondering if I would be allowed by the birth registrar people to name my daughter just VV. Are you allowed a name that is only two letters and both are capitals?

if I'm not I guess I will just have to name her Vesper Vlada and use VV as a nickname.

I'm not pregnant by the way. It's just a hypothetical question.

  1. Well personally it doesn't appeal to me, But you can call her whatever you want. Here are some suggestions.

    * Make her first and middle names begin with V, example Vanessa Valerie...and people could call her VV.

    * Give her a hyphonated name, for example Victoria-Vala.

    * Name her Vivienne and call her VV for short (there are two v's in Vivienne)

    * Name her VV, if you decide to. I'd spell it Vevie to make it a little more acceptable.

Good luck and I hope that these suggestions help you!

  2. Maybe VV would be better as a nickname, and you should choose a 1st and a middle name that starts with V. I like Vesper but Vlada is very strange for me, sounds like an evil name (sorry its only my opinion). But here are some VV names =) :

    Vivian Valyn (Valyn means strong)

    Vanda Valorie

Vanna Veata (Veata is Cambodian means clever)

Venita Vera (Venita is beauty, Vera is faith)

    Victorine Vira

    Hope it helps =)

  3. You can name your child

HGPI(UT&)(^R$_)(&*)OHBGyufr087otyhp9i*... if you want, so why not VV? Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.  Think of the child.  VV is cute, but as a nickname........don't make her go through life without an alternative. WHat if she hates it???

  4. I'm assuming you are pronouncing VV vee-vee, so why not just add the extra letters in there, so that it won't seem as strange as it would with just two capitals Vee-vee, I think its adorable sounding too!

Also, why not consider someting like Evie, which sounds almost exactly the same.

    Some spelling suggestions:

    Veyve

    Vee-Ve

    Veeve

Vive (kind of like this one)

    Evelyn (Evie) for short

    Good luck!

  5. You are allowed to name your child VV, so long as you give her a last name also.

There are some countries where you are not allowed, such as Germany.

  6. Sure... My son's name is JJ.

  7. You Can Name Your Baby Anything What You Want. If You Like That Name Its Up To You.

  8. VV is fine....but!

I would also give your child a second name also,

So it is for the records..the child was named  by a parent...and not something the child made up...or it could be a little problem, so just make sure you have two names and then your  surname.

    VV is cute, really

    Maybe   VV  Rose

  9. i know someone who named his son JJ.

if you like VV go for it.

  10. I think that that is just weird. Sorry. And Vesper Vlada? What about Victoria? Vala? Valarie?

    Look at www.babynamesworld.com.

Sorry but that was just weird.

  11. Why not? Frank Zappa named his kids some pretty weird monickers. Moon Unit? Dweezil?

  12. You could name her anything you want but just imagine her at school when you hear her name being called "W come here"

  13. VV's fine as it is, or you could go for Veve to make it clearer or Vivi or Vevi or Vevy. You can call your child pretty much what you want- the birth registrar people are only form-fillers. I do tend to think though that if you go for VV she's going to get a lot of flak from the kids at school inventing what it stands for.

  14. You can name your Daughter anything you want. I don't know why you'd choose that, but yes, you can.

  15. Personally, I don't really like it. If I was your daughter, I would want to have a more realistic name. Sorry.

  16. Well, you can if you want. But.......ehhhhh........

  17. You can, but you shouldn't.
