Can I just show up to a GED Testing Center and take the test?

Can I just show up? If not, what do I need to do?

  1. No you can't. You have to register first, you pay (I paid like $80), they give you a date, then you take the test on that date. (Must bring documentation) I needed my Cal ID and SSN. It's probably different at other places. I say you call or just show up, but to ask them questions...they have certain dates when they provide the GED testing. Hoped that helped :)

  3. Most of those places charge a fee of about 30 dollars.

    Then you'd have to be scheduled for a time and place.

    At least, that's how it's done in Chicago.

  4. I believe the exams are given by the Boards of Education so that they are the ones who will announce the time and place .Contact them to see when the next exam is to be held and get any information they want to give to you.
