Can I kayak the Tenn-Tom canal?

I am starting in Muscle Shoals ALand want to take the alabama canal down to mobile bay.. anyone know where I can find a map of this? And can I kayak the Tenn-Tom? How dangerous is this with barges? Any information would be helpful and appreciated!
