Can I keep a Chinese Algae Eater and two Plecostomus together?

I just bought a Chinese Algae Eater and I wanted to know if it would do good with two Hypostomus Plecostomus (the common ones, they're black). Are they going to fight or get along?

Extra Info: The CAE is about 3 inches big, one of the Plecos is about 2 inches and the other is about 4 1/2 inches.

(I still have like 12 days to return the Chinese Algae Eater to the store)

  1. it depends if ur tank is tropical or a cold water tank if its clod water stick to the algae eater if its tropical then get the plecks as they have different needs

in the same tank any thing else will get eaten by the turtle u should not put any thing in there with it as they are a snack for the turtle

  2. How big is your tank? All three of these fish will get to be 12 inches long or more. If your tank is smaller than 75 gallons I wouldn't suggest keeping any of them. CAEs can be aggressive toward other fish, so I would at least take him back. Smaller algae eaters include otocinclus catfish (2 inches), Siamese Flying Fox (6 inches), and bristlenose plecos (about 4-6 inches).

  3. chinese algae eaters are a somewhat aggressive fish - i would stick with the common pleco's. just make sure your tank is big enough to accomodate them all to grow to 12 inches!
