Can I keep a fresh water shrimp in cold water?

I have 2 fresh water shrimp and don't want them in my tropical fish tank can i put them in with my cold water goldfish? I've had them in cold water for three days cos i had a sick Betta. Will they be alright in there for life?

  1. how cold exactly? if its anywhere near 15°C... DEAD! else... they'll be ok...


  2. no as soon as they're put in they'll die I don't what the problem they need to be in tropical waters or they'll die got it

  3. Ghost Shrimp would be fine in cooler water, but most others will need tropical temperatures-- they may not show it now, but they (unless they're Ghost Shimp) are probably already suffering.  Also, I would not be surprised if your Goldfish ate the shrimp-- they may be peaceful, but they'll put virtually anything in their mouths.
