On 8-14-08 I can going on vacation and I want to bring my guitar with me. My grandfather said I should not because they will put it with the bags and it will get destroyed because the carrying case I have is not strong enough. Now I am looking around for a hard carrying cast or a cushioned carrying case but I don't want to buy one.

  1. Cool i brought mine with me too, on vacation

anyway so yeah it depends on the size of the guitar mine pretty much fits into everywhere(acoustic)

So you can carry it with you like i did if its the proper size

    :)

  2. What airline are you flying on

EMAIL this and i will be able to help you

  3. It depends on the airline and the aircraft you are flying.  Some aircraft have larger overhead bins and can accommodate a guitar.  Others don't and you would have to check it.  If you are on a regional carrier at any point during your itinerary it certainly won't fit and you will have to check it.

Be aware also that with increasing baggage restrictions airlines are starting to enforce their carry-on limits more strictly.  Since your guitar case will be outside the maximum size there, you might get to the airplane with it only to have to gate-check it.

The only sure-fire way to be able to bring it on with you is to buy it a seat.

Long story short, I would count on having to check it and consider it a bonus if you get to carry it on with you.

    Good luck!

  4. Your guitar can be brought on as a carry on.  It can fit in an overhead bin or sometimes if a closet is available, the flight attendants will acomodate it there.  Happy flying.
