I was diagnosed with Pink Eye on Friday.. I have been on the antibiotics for 48 hours. When is it okay to kiss my boyfriend again? My doctor said I can't wear contacts or eye make-up for 7 days. But this non affection is killing me.

  1. Intimate contact can provide an opportunity for spreading pinkeye, although it's unlikely that kissing someone can cause an eye infection.

  2. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is very, very contagious. After a couple days on drops you should be okay, but on the flip side is it really worth it to possibly give your boyfriend it? Then your time will just be extended.  It is unlikely that he would get pink eye unless something that has touched your eyes touches him (could even be a towel, etc).  I hope that your doctor also suggested that you throw your contacts out if they are disposable or if not clean them very, very well.  As far as your makeup, if you are using mascara I would throw that out as well and start off with a new one and wash any/all brushes that you have used as well. Pink eye is a nasty little thing that likes to cling to stuff and I would not want you to reinfect yourself by using products that have been contaminated with it.
