I'm flying from Newark to Imphal, but I have a 9 hr. layover in Delhi. Since I had to have a special permit to enter Manipur (Imphal), and my visa is for that destination as well, I didn't know if it would be an issue to browse the area surrounding Delhi's airport for a bit.

  1. Since your first entry point in India is Delhi, you have to get your immigration and custo9ms cleared at Delhi and you have to again check-in to your final destination from Delhi.  You can very well roam around Delhi since your Visa will be for India and not to any particular place in India.

  2. have a check in delhi airport to the immigration...but now in delhi airport is a mess for modernize it so you need lot o time and is quite far from the centre of the city...not really interesting for a couple of hours
