Can I leave my laptop always on?

I never turn off my DELL laptop at home (of course it will go on stand-by automatically.. Is this bad for my laptop?

Best not to leave your computer on, it shortens the lifetime of your PC. And can reduce performance (a little).

Save some power = saving money

Best to turn off your pc ;)

No way, you can't leave it on for long time...the processes will get burn and the whole laptop is useless...not only the processes will get burn, some others will too..

go ahead leave it on and let it go to stand-by. turning it on and off all the time will actually hurt it in the long run. cold boots are hard on computers.

Best way is, put your Laptop in Hibernate mode when you leave at home. Hibernate mode is best and safe one becasue standby mode may brings lots of problems because stand by mode is only for short time.

I leave my laptop on the mains all the time, and power on all day and I've even left the power on for two to three days constantly and no problems with heating, & etc . The only time it goes on battery is with a power failure which has only happened twice. It is now five years old and running fine.If yours heats up, I'd say there is something wrong with it. You didn't say what brand it is.

since its a laptop there will b continuous recharge ..which will spoil ur batterys capacity

It could overheat. Stand-by still used quite some energy so it's considered to turn it off.
