Can I leave the country after filing bankruptcy?

If I file bankruptcy will I still be able to travel out of the United States? I have a trip planned for Germany next spring and haven't even obtained my passport yet. (I do plan to do this within the next month) I am getting a divorce and I'm having to file bankruptcy in the process. My question is just. will I still be able to get my passport after a bankruptcy or will they deny me the passport due to filing? Thanks for any help.

Why would you not be able to leave the country?

As long as you can pay for a plane ticket and your passport... what is the problem?
