  4. sure, just DON'T use string to hold it down...do you know how many people I've seen trying to hold down a mattress and boxspring on the roof of a car with just STRING? You need STRAPS ( plural ), not string. It's funny to see them on the side of road, with the sleeping materials scattered along the Interstate,road, etc. I've actually stopped to help the less fortunate like young women, who obviously didn't know any better. Just get some big safety straps, racheting, and use 2 or 3, and it should be safe enough to transport. Or invest in a good airpump, portable, to take with you.

  5. Yes you can. As long as it is correctly tied down, does not obscure your vision and does not extend beyond the front and read end of the vehicle it is mounted on. If it does, you would be required to attach warning signs if it protrudes beyond the end of the vehicle or would have to tow the boat on a suitable trailer, as defined under the new traffic law legislation.
