Can I legally carry my handgun on a bicycle?

Michigan is an open carry state, which allows anyone legally allowed to own a pistol to carry it in a holster on their belt, so long as it's not tucked under a shirt. I passed 2 cops riding yesterday and I don't know if they didn't notice, or didn't care, but they didn't mess with me. I haven't had any problems yet, just wanna know the law in case I do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

why do you need to carry a handgun? is your area that unsafe?

You answered your own question. If your state allows open carry you're good to go. Just make sure it's in plain sight.

How sad you feel the need to be armed in public, Michigan must be lawless indeed, have you considered asking for a Federal Marshal to restore order?
