I don't need a car in NY but have a home & license here. I need my car when I fly to my vacation home in NC and want to keep it down there. Is this OK legally? I think you are suppose to register your car within 30 days of moving somewhere new, but it's only a vacation home. What can I do besides drive every time I go on vacation down there? And what if it was California or Las Vegas? Would I have to drive there each time too? What if I had more vacation homes/cars? It seems crazy to have to drive everywhere.

  1. I think you only need to register your car at your new home if you took your car with you.
