  1. No you need to carry previsions of all kinds> Fish lobster> Crab> get old after a while> Veg> Fruit> water>A soda is good> & Bread> I cruised for yrs and carried 6 months worth of previsions> And added supplies at most ports>

  2. You would need to land every so often to stock up on food, because living on fish isn't really healthy.  You also need fresh water.  Sail in the South Pacific where there are lots of islands around, and it would be fun to visit all of those islands.  Good luck!

  3. Here is a book for you.  I picked it up at my local library.  Scroll down and read the customer reviews.

  4. Yes.  But the Pacific is a big ocean- You would do well to have a watermaker, some solar panels, and a wind generator along with a reliable diesel on a well found sailboat of sufficient size to command some respect in a seaway and to hold enough water, provisions, supplies, and safety gear  for yourself and your crew. Pick up a copy of Latitudes and Attitudes (pricey but fun!) for some inspiration, or Cruising World.

  5. Many people do and they only go ashore when they need to do their washing or buy more groceries. Great life style with all that fresh seafood. It does pay to have diesel motors which power a freezer, and solar panels which run a 240 litre fridge on its own continually. This  is how our catamaran is set up.
