My boyfriend and I are visiting his family, but we're soon going back to our house until Christmas time. I know the safe weight to lose in a week is 1-3 pounds, so would I be able to lose 40 pounds by Christmas if I walk 30 minutes a day and do a session or Pilates?

  1. In my opinion, 40 pounds by Christmas is kind of extreme. You would most likely to pull off 30 pounds if you did your walking on a daily routine, better yet, POWER-WALK. Hot yoga is the best. I went everyday for 2 weeks, followed by a healthy diet, and ended up losing 6 pounds in the 2 weeks. Not only can you lose weight through yoga, it is also a form of meditation!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!!

P.S.  Remember to drink LOTS OF WATER, at least 2L/ day. Eat 4-6 meals/ day but in small portions, preferable palm-sized. Eat more berries because it reduces stomache bloats.

  2. its possible, thats only 2-1/2 lbs.a week but you have to diet too along with the excercise.

  3. Can you or should you? How much do you really need to lose? You don't give any info on ht&wt

If you go on a high protein diet, take a daily vitamin, and do the walking you can lose 2-3 lbs per week easily. Find a copy of the Protein Power Plan by Michael & Mary Dan Eads. 16 weeks x 2.5#/wkly =40lbs

  4. If you eat healthy and exercise you can lose 40 lbs in about 5 months, four months is too little time

  5. Three things:

1 - 2 cups of water 15 minutes before every meal.

2 - Forget dinner. Shut your mouth after 7.

3 - The most important thing: NO MORE CARBS

Fats and specially protein are good

  6. Its hard to say over the internet. Losing weight has so many different areas and it doesn't just happen over night. 40 pounds in 4 months is very possible. But its healthier to lose it over a longer period of time because its more likely to stay off. But if your just losing it for the christmas season you should be fine. And yes maybe try walking a little bit longer and then do your Pilate's the extra 15 minutes would feel like hardly any more and it would help lots.. and if you could make it a slow job it burns way more calories then walking your heart rate gets way higher... anyhow good luck I'm sure you will reach your goal

  7. yeah you have to be really strict on doing it though don;t slack off
