  1. Wool will get damaged in a washing machine.  The best way to wash anything woolen is by soaking it in Woolite or any other brand for delicate materials.  Hand wash and rinse really well.  


  2. I would not wash these in the machine. Red wings are very expensive socks and they are 80% wool.

    If you have some Woolite or even some mild soap such as Ivory, I would wash them by hand in a bowel or the kitchen sink, pat them dry-roll them up in a towel to remove excess water and then hang them up to dry.

    If you would like to keep them smelling a little fresh I would soak them in some vinegar before wringing out.
