1 mile average time: 6:40

If I am just running and timing myself I can easily run a 6:40 mile time on average. Based on a 6:40 mile time, do I have good chances that I can get in the 13 minutes in a 2 mile run?

  1. I'm guessing not because you understand you will slow down a lot. My best mile is 6:15 but my 2 mile time is slower an average pace of 6:50 per mile. You have to expect your going to slow down you might be able to just barely get less then 14:00 minutes.

  2. no unless u have really good endurance

  3. Probably, if you want to.

  4. If when you say easily, you mean it, then yes, just run two 6:40 miles in a row and maybe a sprint finish and you'll get your 13-14 minute 2 miles.

  5. no i ran alot during track season my mile time was a 5:54 and it took untill my last race to get a 12:44 but my slowest was around a 13 50

  6. If you can run a mile in 6:40 it's pretty much impossible unless you have very good endurance. If you were to run 2 miles I would assume about 14:20 would be your time.  If you keep training then you'll probably be there then in about 1-2 months.
