  1. Choco chocolate

    3/4 cup sugar

    1 cup milk

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

    3 egg yolk, lightly beaten

    2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

    2 cups heavy cream

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    DIRECTIONS

Combine sugar, milk, salt, and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer. Place the egg yolks into a small bowl. Gradually stir in about 1/2 cup of the hot liquid. and return to the saucepan. Heat until thickened, but do not boil. Remove from the heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate until chocolate is melted. Pour into a chilled bowl, and refrigerate for about two hours until cold, stirring occasionally.

When chocolate mixture has completely cooled, stir in the cream, and vanilla. Pour into an ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer's directions

  4. Here's how you make ice cream without an ice cream maker!

I've made ice cream without an ice cream maker several times! It works!

The first thing you have to do is mix up your base.

Here’s the recipe for vanilla ice cream!

    1 cup milk

    1/2 cup granulated sugar

    2 cups heavy whipping cream

    1 1/2 - 2 tsp vanilla extract

After you’ve mixed the ingredients together, put this mixture in the fridge for 1 hour then transfer to the freezer for 30 min.

Beat with an electric mixer. Freeze for 40 min then beat again. Continue freezing for 40 min and then beating - do this cycle 3 times. Then you can allow it to harden up by itself.

If you don't have an ice cream maker - it's important to beat it to allow air into the ice cream mixture to make it soft. The beating also prevents ice crystals from forming!

You can spice up this recipe by adding fun mix-ins like crumbled Oreos for Cookies and Cream or Chocolate Chips and Cookie Dough Balls for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

This is the quick version of ice cream making without an ice cream maker! If you want a more detailed description or a different recipe - you can check out

I love making ice cream! I always make sure my freezer is stocked...and if I lag behind my family reminds me to make some more!!!!

I hope you enjoy your ice cream!

  5. Yes. You can pour the ice cream liquid into a few loaf pans (don't have to grease or line them) and just let it harden and cut it into slices and take the slices out and wrap them in cellophane wrap and put the wrapped slices into a ziplock gallon freezer bag and use the peeled down cellophane wrap to hold onto while you eat the slices. The ice cream will just be a little harder with no air pumped into it.

  6. Basically you have to freeze and stir, freeze and stir.  Here is one way to do it http://www.ehow.com/how_2042611_make-ice...  but you can google it and find tons of ideas.
