  1. In theory, yes.

You can do all those things suggested by answerer 1, but in practise you will find most jobs you find available on the machines are application by letter or cv. Occasionally you can apply by phone and if you are lucky the JC staff will let you call from there. If you are wanting an instant job, as I suspect is what you mean, be realistic and dont expect to apply even by phone and get an instant decision.

Jobcentre staff carry few jobs (if any) where they have been charged with making a final decision on applicants, although after filling in an application form they can shortlist you for the employer.

  2. Better than that, you can go online to the JobCentrePlus website and sign up with them right there and then and start browsing the available jobs of which there are many thousands.

. . . .and, yes, you can make a walk-in application for ajob at Jobcentres here in UK.  You will find they have touch screens where you can check out the latest jobs as well as noticeboard job and you can have an interview right there and then with a Jobcentre Plus member of staff and you can sign up to claim any benefits which you might be entitled to - such as Job Seekers allowance. etc.
