Can I make my photos .GIF?

All my photos are currently .JPG and I want to make them .GIF because I upload them onto flickr so people can give me idea of how to make them better and whatnot. Anyways, you can save a picture off of flickr and then put it anywhere else (like on a 360, or onto Myspace) when it is .jpg. So I have noticed some peoples pictures are .gif and I want to make mine that way. Can I? If I can how do I do that?

what i do is use lunapic.com.

upload the picture then in the left > file>save and you will be given options on what file to save it in.
