  1. Unless you are using seawater, what you are seeing probably isn’t salt but probably calcium carbonate or calcium sulfate or magnesium and other disolved minerals.

    Although it may not be harmfull, I wouldn’t use it until you’ve had it tested and know what you’re really putting on your food.

    Even if you know its salt, I'd still have it tested to make sure there is not else mixed in before I'd use it.


  2. The best solution would be to drain down the sink so it can be diluted by other waste water.  I would not recommend using it to water plants.  Even if you dilute it it will still accumulate if poured on the same spot.  I hate to say that there really is no use for that kind of hard water.
