  1. Yes.  You can marry and then apply for the green card if you want to live here.

  2. Yes. If the union is declared binding and legal in the US, then you do not need a Green Card.

  3. i believe this entitles you to a green card, if i remember that gerald depardieu film....

  4. Yes. Just go to CA and get married. Or you could go to MA. In both MA and CA you need a valid picture ID.(passport should do) You do NOT have to be a resident of either state. MA requires a 3 day waiting period between the license issuance and the wedding, CA has no waiting period. Neither state requires blood tests. Good Luck!

  5. Yes, because for all they know/care, that US citizen is moving to the UK. It's not like you have to ask permission. The problem is that unless you start the immigration process, you will be in huge trouble if you come here.

You need to wait for permission from the US gov't after going through proper channels. Honestly, you need to be careful. They love to bar people for doing things like this, and you may never be able to go to the US.

The literal answer to your question is "yes" in that your GF can marry you and come to the UK if you sponsor her there. But if you marry her and then try to join her in the US without getting a spousal visa in order you are asking for a world of trouble. Being that it's a g*y marriage they might not even recognise that. I'll have to ask my buddy who worked for immigration tomorrow when we go crabbing. That's a good question. You may not be eligible for a spousal visa at all. I don't think you are.

  6. Yes with some big exeptions.

You have to be legally in the USA to marry him.

You can't come here for the purpose of marriage unless you plan to leave right after the marriage and go back to your own country. If you come here planning to marry then try to stay you will be considered guilty of immigration fraud.

If you marry here and go home you can then apply for a spousal visa to come back, it takes 6 months to a year.

If you want to marry here and stay here with him you first need to apply for a fiancee visa K-1. It takes about 6 months to a year.

Go to http://www.visajourney.com for lots of free guides and help. The forums there are full of people who are getting married to or who have married Americans and are a great source of help and support through all the paperwork.

My K-1 took 5 months from beginning to end and that included a delay so it can be faster than 6 months. The forms are not difficult, but they do need to be done accurately. Good Luck

  7. you can get married. But u should look up spouse visa.

  8. If your girlfriend is from Texas, forget it.  g*y marriage is not recognized here in the Lone Star state.

Only two of the 50 states recognize same s*x marriage:  California and Massachusetts.

The federal govt doesnt recognize the marriage as legal even if it is performed in California or Massachusetts.  As such, there is absolutely NO protection or rights under any federal laws or federal social programs--NONE.

Further, a marriage performed in either of those states is not recognized anywhere in the other 48 states either.

Why bother?  Go stand on some mountain top somewhere and have a heart to heart exchange of feelings.  It's the same thing in the eyes of the US federal govt and the vast majority of US states.

  9. Same gender marrige is not recognized in US Immigration Law.

You cannot get spouse visa based on same gender marriage in US.

  10. Yes here I am again.

My husband is a Brit and I am from the US.

All states have age laws before you can marry.

Why must you marry so soon?

Why can you not wait until you can support your own self.

    You still live with mum.

Wait until you have lived on your OWN before adding another person to the equation.

Even if you do get married in another state, Texas may not accept it.

You might want to read up on gov websites before making final plans.

Immigrating to the US is very expensive.

You better start making lots of money.

You are looking at about £4000 for everything...and that is just the CHEAP way of going through it.
