Normally I get a bra fitting once a year at victoria secret. But recently I have gained a bit of weight and am in the process of loosing it so i figure I might be changing bra sizes more than once in the next few months so can I measure myself at home or do the bra fitting ppl at bra stores know more than i do?

  4. yes, take a flecsable tape mesure and wrap around the bottom of your breats, mark it and then look at it, if u dont know your cup size, just try some stuff on

  5. Just use a cloth tape measure, most like one in Mom's sewing box. Go across the bottom and then across the nipples, don't pull tight, just what would be a comfortable fit.

  6. Do NOT take the advice of VS! The 'add 5in' thing leaves you with a band too big and a cup too small. They try and cram everyone into 32-36 A-D. Nordstrom are good, but I don't know much about their stores. If you do have one near you, go there. I recently answered a question of a girl who measured 26 inches under her bust, and the VS fitter put her in a 32. Now, according to VS's "rule" that adding 5 inches gives you your band size, she should have said to the girl 'I'm sorry, we don't do 30 bands'. But she put her in a 32. A 30 band would have been too big for the girl anyway, let alone a 32! Because they only sell a select few sizes, they won't turn anyone away that appears bigger; they'll try and squeeze them into a size they have (e.g. a woman who needs a 30F might be shoved into a 34C, which I've heard happen before).

Here's how to measure yourself and get a rough idea of what your size is:

Regarding how to measure your bra size - measure just underneath your b***s. If the number is even, that's your band size. If it's odd, and 1" to get your band size. So, for example, if you measured 27 inches under, your band size is 28.

Now measure around the fullest part of your bust. Subtract the band size from your bust measurement and you get the cup size. So, if you measure 33in on your b*****s, and your band size is 28, then 33 - 28 =5. AA is 0 inches difference, A is 1, B 2, C 3, D 4, DD/E 5 etc. So, with a 5in difference, your bra size would be about a 28DD/E.

Bare in mind this is a very rough guide. Tape measures shouldn't really be used because a lot of the time they don't work. They can be used to give you a starting point if you didn't know your size. E.G., if it had said you were a 28DD, you may try it on and find the cup too small, and in fact end up walking out with 28Fs.
