Can I mix Guppys and Neon tetra in a 5 gallons?

Hi! Can I mix Guppies and Neon in a 5 gallons?? If yes, how much ?

Like 3 males guppy and 4-5 neons? Or 1 male and 2 female guppies and 4-5 neons ...?

  1. i would say 6 neon's tetras and 2 male guppies not 1 female 1 male  guppies as a 5 gallon is to small for fish to breed in as for me saying 8 fish this is exceeding the limit for the maximium hold in the 5 gallon tank  


  2. Neons need to be kept in schools of at least 5 to be happy and that would be enough for a 5 gallon tank.  Or you could have the 3 male guppies with no neons.  Not both.

  3. yes you can if you want the guppies to breed get male and two female guppies if you dont get all male and i would say 5 tetras

  7. NO>THEY are natural enemy's.If you have a large tank yes but in a small one no,one will kill the other.With Guppies you can put Mollies,Platys,Sword tails.With Neon's you can put White cloud,pencil fish,any other Tetra,Rosy Barbs,Shark.
