Hi All...

I need to move a Dynamo 7ft "bar" pool table (coin-op table), approximately 200 miles, and I need to know if I can just set /secure it in a large trailer on its legs & drive it home? It is a one-piece 3/4inch slate table, and my main concern is whether or not the slate is likely to be damaged moving it in this manner (by normal vibration & "bumps" in the road). Also, I've been told that almost all bar tables of this sort can be tipped on their side without danger of the slate coming out. Is this true? The table can be moved out of its current location without removing the legs or tipping it on its side, however to get it in my house, I will either have to remove the legs, or tip it sideways and maneuver it through the doorways with the legs on. I know this cannot be done with a 3-piece slate table, and I know how heavy these tables are...I have plenty of help to move it. I just need to know if this is do-able at all, from someone who knows.

THANKS MUCH!!

  1. I'd figure you should be ok; just make sure it's secure. I mean there probably wasn't anything too special when it was shipped *to* you. Not sure about tipping it though. If it's bolted to the frame, you're probably ok there too though. Might want to call up some table suppliers/dealers and check though.

  2. you should be fine as long as you have strapped down tightly, and don't wreak

  3. You are fine to move it but you probably don't want to "set it up" on its legs in the trailer..  typically the tables come apart - I was just in a large tournament this weekend where the tables were shipped from Las Vegas to the east coast - the tables were in the trailer apart.

  4. I moved a 3-piece, 1" slate pool table 1700 miles, in a horse trailer.  Every time I hit a bump, I almost had a heart attack.  I placed the slate on couch cushions, with thick cardboard in-between, and strapped it down tight.  I made it the 1700 miles without any problem.  Make sure everything is extremely tight.
