Can I move a stove and put it on it's side?

I need to pick up a stove, and I was wondering if it is OK to lay it down on it's back when I move it. I want to move it this weekend, but I only have and SUV and not a truck. I don't want to do any damage to it.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Should be fine.  Be sure to remove any loose parts, burner bibs, racks inside, and tape the door shut.  Not a big deal, but it will save you some grief while it is being moved.

  2. yea thats bad just wait until u get the right equipment especially if its a gas stove u culd burn up literally

  3. Yes it would be OK to lie it on its side.

Remove the oven trays and racks.

Tape the doors shut and the element and rings in place.

Have a blanket on the deck so you don't scratch the sides as you slide it in and out again.

  4. Yes, putting a stove on it's side wont harm it , but I would put down a blanket or pad.
