I am moving & havent disturbed her nest since laid & need to clean out the aqurium. Will it hurt the eggs to move them? they are in a 75 gal tank & the dirt needs to be switched out.

  1. No, you should wait until they hatch. Personally, I incubate my eggs rather than having the mother stay with them. But it's not a good idea to disturb them or move them. Also, I noticed you asked a question three months ago about your ball python eggs. Are these the same eggs? If so, they're probably no good. Ball pythons eggs only take about 55 days to hatch. If it's been three months, I highly doubt they will hatch.

  2. best if you waited

  3. Yeah I incubate my snakes eggs too.  You can buy an incubator for like $40.   If you absolutely have to move them this is what you need to do.  Get a pencil, not a marker bc it can sink through the shell and hurt the snakes, and mark side laying up with an X.  Then GENTLY move them one by one into some more dirt/moss where they cannot roll.  Clean the old pile and then place them back in a new pile.  See there is an air bubble in the egg.  And if the egg is messed with too much or rolled one way to far the air bubble can move and rupture the embryo!!!  Be careful and Good Luck!
