  1. Do you mean you just want to move the computer to your room? Just leaving the wireless router where it is?

Then you will be fine. When the computer starts back up it will automatically reconnect to the wireless network in your house.

Be warned, if you are moving a good distance from the wireless router your internet may be slower. This is just a result of the wireless router being farther away.

Now, before you move anything I would first check to see if your wireless internet is password protected. If it is then I would right down the password and keep it handy in case after the move to up stairs the computer asks you to enter the password to connect to the internet.

To see if your internet is password protected just right or left click on your wireless signal icon, in the toolbar at the right. It's usually at the bottom of the screen. Once you click there may be a pad-lock image on your network (wireless signal) which would indicate that it's password protected.

If it turns out in the end, that you need a password and can't find it you may need to reset your router. You can find instruction easily on-line by typing into google your router brand, what make or model number it is, and then just type reset instruction.

    Example:

    D-link 235324 reset instructions
