I'm having some trouble. I can't seem to get my XP machine to communicate with Vista. I don't think this is the issue, but, XP is 32-bit and Vista is 64-bit. My real problem is with accessing my Vista machine from my XP machine. I click on "view workgroup computers" in "my network places" When I try to connect to the Vista64 machine I get a log in screen (Connect to _____). I know I don't have any passwords set up, at the moment. Would someone be so kind as to explain what is going on?

  1. how are they connected you need a router a switch or some active hubs can also get the job done other wise computer to computer you need a cross over or it wont work and how is it configured

  2. Whether a processor is 32 bit of 64 shouldn't make a difference concerning connectivity. I assume you are using a router to connect your two computers together. How you set up a network? If not go to the control panel and click the network setup wizard and follow the on screen instructions.
