Question:

Can I paint my lawn?

During a drought a few years back it was illegal to water your lawn. I remember something about someone spray painting their dead lawn to make it look green. I know it sounds silly, but it looked great.

Do you know what kind of paint it is that can be used this way? Where can I get it?

  1. Yeah, they used to do that in Tucson, Arizona during the winter.

It does look better than dead grass.    As the other responder noted, it's a special dye.   Try searching for "lawn dye".

  2. http://www.bugspray.com/catalog/products...

    I hope it helps.

  3. Yes, they actually have spary paint that is Just for Grass wont harm it.

  4. You sound like you want a temporary fix for a party try this it is inexpensive.

Argo corn starch and green finger paint ,

the starch in volume quanties can be bought thur a resturant supply house,

the green finger paint can be bought in gallon can from an art suppy store

mix in a five gallon bucket

rent a power washer with a separate suction feed thur the sprayer like a cup automotive paint sprayer get a stick of rebar iron about five foot long form a large construction site grind  down one end so that end fits in your hand drill bend the rebar till you have a good stirer hhave a friend stir as you power spray your lawn you can add a couple cups of flower to the corn starch for added density, saw this done once forty years ago the yard needed a gully washer of a rain but after that it looked normal again.

This is not a long term solution.

  5. its actually not a paint, its a dye, call a lawn and garden place they will be able to help you.but once you start you have to keep doing it ,especaily when it starts growing,it will look like a bad hair job.
