I have to make a payment to someone who lives in Argentina. Her account with at Citibank in San Francisco. I belong to a credit union which will wire the money to her account for a big surcharge. Can I avoid this fee by going to a Citibank location and handing them cash so they will pay it into her account, or is there any other way to pay her without incurring surcharges/

  1. As long as you have her account number, then you can go to a Citibank branch to avoid the wire charge.

    Best wishes.

  2. I would try going to Citibank first. They can tell you if the can make that deposit for you. It could save you the outrageous wire charges.
