Can I pick up a USPS package at the post office before the postman delivers?

I'm leaving town Monday around noon, and need a package that should be delivered that afternoon. If I go to the post office Monday morning, will I be able to get my package? Thanks

Call the Post Office and ask them to hold all your mail and packages as you want to come in to pick it up.  Then you can notify them at that time to resume delivery.

Call the post office first thing and tell them you want to pick up your package.  The issue will be to call before the Letter Carrier leaves the office.  I'm sure your Letter Carrier will be more than happy to leave your package to be picked up.
