Can I place advertisements anywhere?

I see ambient kinds of advertisement where they interact with the environment (for instance the ground is being painted or being plastered with stickers). Do they ask permission or could they just place the ads anywhere? How will I know where it is okay to put print ads?

no you have to get the owner's permission to place the ad even though you printed it out.

it is regulated either by the municipality (when space is public property) or by the owner of the land/building or whatever landmark you chose to advertise on.

however, if you make it in a small scale like drawing with chalk on the street the worst that can happen is a fine but in most cases they don't even bother. at your own risk.
