Can I plant perennials now in the hot weather? I live in WI.?

What is the worst that can happen or should I wait until it cools off?

  1. of course you can plant them. Give them a good watering the evening before, dig your holes and fill them with water, next evening plant them, give them a good water. Shade if necessary for a few days, no problem,


  2. The worst...they will die.

    But I'm in CA and I plant year round, I don't have time to wait for fall planting. I just do it when I get the plant! he he  If you do plant, do it in the cool of the evening and water well for the next 2-4 weeks, they should be fine. Like anytime of the year, they will have transplant stress but water deeply until they are established and then begin to taper off your watering.
