Can I plant strawberry plants in July?

Or do they have to be planted before spring or something?

  1. Yes, you can plant them now, though spring is the preferred time.  You just want to be sure they are well watered and don't expect any fruit until next year.  Mulch well if you have cold winters as these plants wont have the greatest root systems and will for sure need good protection.


  2. It is better in spring, but if you water them they should do OK.

  3. Yes, but you would have to water them a lot especially if it gets hot. They usually start sending off mini plants on a above ground runner around this time through fall, so you would only need a few plants.

    Its also better to have some mulch too so theres no competition from weeds.
