Question:

Can I play Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII on my PS3?

I bought the game new yesterday. I am able to put it in and play it, but when I try to save, it says that there is no memory card inserted. It even said this when I had the memory card adaptor plugged in. I'm not sure how everything works yet, because I have not had my PS3 for long, but I would think that I'd be able to play this game on the PS3, because I have other PS1 and PS2 games that work fine with it. I thought the problem might be that you cannot start a new game with DoC: FF7, and that the game save must be transferred via the memory card adaptor into the PS3. (After all, that was how I did my other games and they worked well on PS3.) So I got out my PS2, started a new game, and saved it onto the memory card. When I tried to transfer it to the PS3, it worked, but then when I went into the game to load the game save, it was not there. There was no "continue" option. I'm not sure how to fix this problem, so I am hoping one of you do. If you could help me out, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  1. You have to "Load" not continue.

And if you want a new gamesave go to Memory Card Utility [PS/PS2]

and go to create new internal memory card

make one and assign it to a slot.

    Play.

  2. well, first of all, and if you haven't done so already, you need to create an internal memory card in the ps3 which isn't that hard. all you have to do is go to the memory card utility under the Game option on the XMB, then create a new internal memory card in ps2 format. After that you have to assign it to either slot 1 or 2 (as if it were really a ps2 memory card).

I can see that your ps3 is either the 20gb, 60gb, or 80gb ps3 seeing as it can play ps2 and ps1 games. You also have a memory card adapter for your ps3, so your problem may be that you may have just transferred the data incorrectly, or not assigned the proper memory card slots in the ps3, or accidentally deleted the data.

    I hope this helps.
