Can I play PS3 with europeans ?

I play Call Of Duty 4 here in the US, and one of my friends in Europe got the game recently. I was wondering if I could play online with him or is it only North Americans, Europeans, Asians..etc, you know, by region. Because when I play online, everybody speaks english, I rarely hear any spanish, italian, french...

Does anybody know ? Thanks

Yes.

The only game currently region locked for online is Metal Gear Online.

Resistance Fall Of Man was until July 2007.

CoD 4, among other games, has always been open to all regions playing with one another.
