Can I play Xbox 360 through an iMAC?

Hey,

I'm looking at getting a new playstation 3 or xbox 360, and I'm wondering if it could play through my iMAC, so I don't have to buy a TV. Here's the link, hit gallery, and then it's the 3rd picture. Are any of these inputs right for hooking either of these systems up?

  1. I can't say that I've ever heard of this idea, so I wouldn't count on it initially. However, I could be wrong. Perhaps a hardware hookup could somehow let you play it through the OS X operating system (i.e. a TV hookup).

  2. Unfortunatley you are not able to hook up either console. There is no video input. 360 requires either RCA, RGB or RED GREEN BLUE.

Playstation requires the same but has the capablities of connecting HDMI.

  3. No... you cannot hook it up through an iMAC, but you can hook it up directly to a monitor and sound system. You can purchase a VGA cable ($40) for the xbox 360 which will allow you to do this... I do not know for the playstation 3 but I am sure that there is a similar cable that allows you to do the same thing on it.
