Can I play a HD DVD on a regular DVD player that is a plain cheap regular model.?

I understand I will not get the higher quality picture, b ut will it still play a normal picture in quality

  1. some Hd dvd's were dual sided.  that meant it had the hd side, and the regular dvd side.  if there was one that wasn't dual sided, then no, i don't believe it'll work.
