Hi,

I am moving to Australia from the US and I am wondering if my US made TV/ DVD player (etc) will work in Australia? I am aware that the powerpoint/outlet is different. I am just concerned about voltage!

Thanks :)

  1. Yes if the following is provided in the TV.

    1. TV is Multi system meaning the tv will accept PAL, NTSC and other formats of signal. I pretty sure the signal system in US is not used outside US like most of US stds.

    2. The power supply is comptabile.

Here is US it is 110V and in AUS it will be 240V, you need to buy a convert in AUS unless the TV has a builtin voltage converter. Consult the manual or ask the store.

On a side note. Make sure the warrenty on the TV is applicable outside US, if still applicable.

    Regards

    Ash

  2. Most of Aust. is on 240 volts 50 hertz so the answer is, no. You might as well sell the TV and not deal with moving it only to find it won't work. That is whay the plug is different, so you won't blow yourself up.

  3. you'd need a weird adapter

  4. Yeah but you'll need an adaptor

Theres nothing good on here anyway :)
