I just got braces today and I just got to thinking I play the saxophone in band and I was wondering can I still play the saxophone with braces? And if I can is there anything I need to do special?

  1. Sure you can. I know I did. You're teeth are gonna feel a little weird at first when your braces are new but then it'll be just like any other day that you're playing.

  2. Yes.

There is no pressure against your teeth as if you were playing the trumpet or tuba for instance.

    Good luck in band.

  3. Yes, you can.  It'll take some adjustment and getting used to, but it is definitely possible.  Just take baby steps.  Work your way up until you can get back to your normal practice routine.  So instead of sitting down in band and trying to play the whole time, you'll be ready for it.
