  1. Well, I know how you feel.

You need to talk to the doctor who did your surgery, and hopefully get suggestions regarding what kind of protection you would need. You definitely need something like knee-brace.

I would recommend that you stay away from high-level competition and play some "regular" games that could make you satisfied.

To me, volleyball is part of my life, and I would like to make sure I take care of myself (my body) so that I can have a better quality of life playing volleyball. I guess you will do the same...

  2. I know exactly what you are saying, i am the exact way that you are... I hurt my knee playing basketball and i know that i should not play, but it is not that simple.  It is a sport that seems just like yours, something that is held real close to your heart, and you dont want to have to give it up.  The reality of things is you can still play, but you need a great knee brace and you need to slow down.  I understand that sometimes going half speed is not fun, think about not playing at all.  Good luck bro

  3. I completely understand.  I've been playing both indoor and sand volleyball for about 15 years.  I had the same situation with my knee and I came back after 4 years.  take a good long break and make sure you're FULLY healed otherwise your knee will bother you for the rest of your life.  Best wishes.

  4. try taking up setting, you don't really have to jump as much.

  5. me..

    i do understand ur feeling..

if u luv one thing or that thing go for it..

but if ur not doing well i mean yun injured doesnt cure yet dont play..

    but go for it..

    just remember this qoute!!..

"winners always win, quiters never win"..

    gud luck!!

  6. I know what you mean.

I had a mucsle tear, 3 strains, and a dislocated tendonm all in the right shoulder.

when you really get into it its hard to qiut I even had heated arguments with coaches over playing.

I dont recomend the fighting though.

just rest it for a while.

it may seem like it, but its not worth have such horrible knee problems especially if your young

  7. me totally.  i played for two seasons with two herniated disks and i couldnt walk up and down my stairs for 6 months.  i couldnt even put on my jeans.  it was tough.  now im sitting out my varsity season, but i think it will be worth it.  i';m getting there and i totally know how you feel.  it sucks but, as everyone says even though its annoying, your health is more important.  take a season off.  trust me.  and im really sorry=/.  i know how you feel

  8. dont go out there anymore

  9. I agree with Dan.

Talk with your doctor that did the surgery to see what they recommend.

Rehab as much as you need.

I would start with some lower level competition.  But not too low level.  If you get with beginners, you are more likely to get hurt.

I have quit dozens of times.  I decided to quit playing after an all day tournament.  I live about 50 miles from the gym.  I had to stop 3 times on the way home to get out and stretch my knees.  They hurt so bad, I was having trouble watching the road.  I decided at that point, I would never play again.  And that decision was final.  Until my team asked if I wanted to play in the tournament is 3 weeks.  That was the last season that I played.  However, I am still involved in every other aspect of the game.  Coaching, teaching and supervising.

  10. why not

  11. well what you need to do is ice it and were a knee brace and if it feels bad when your playing dont play that game
