Question:

Can I please have some opinions?

Okay basically I read a lot of "Chick-lit", there the types of books I enjoy reading, and I'm sure you will all agree I shouldn't live in denial of something I like and enjoy. I've wanted to try writing my own "Chick-lit" novel, but I'm not too sure how they will be perceived, as people often define the genre as "Books by women for women". Should I stop writing my "Chick-lit" novel now, because it will never work out. Or will it be appreciated as a new voice to the 'Chick Lit" genre.

Or should I use a pseudonym?

Thank you, all opinions are welcome :)

xx

  1. just as long as you are pleased with the genre.

and i think alot of women would like a sensitive man who knows about their emotion.

you have alot going for you :]]

  2. I'm sure you could write quality chick-lit (which seems like an oxymoron most of the time) but a huge part of the chick-lit demographic are women who think that only a woman could really write something that they can identify with wholly. And that argument has some merit. So I would be cautious.

  3. Carry on writing it, it could redefine the genre.

    Don't bother with a pseudonym.
