Can I plug my headphones into my mic input jack?

OK, I've had my computer for like 3 months. My last computer had the headphone jack sodder break like... 4 times. My headphone jack is always breaking. This time though, I don't have the dell warranty, so I can't just call dell and have them replace it. I can either get a PCMCIA sound card and use that as my headphone output, but I was wondering if I could use my mic input as my headphone input?

I have windows vista and sigma tel audio. Please can someone help me

No it uses a differnt line.

You'll have to get a external USB sound card.

Look for Soundblaster Live external or Audigy PCMCIA

You could but that would just turn your headphones into a microphone :P  

The headphone jack is an output, the mic jack is an input, so you wont hear any sound.
